The Lexington High School Cat Band has set a long standard of excellence in its marching band, concert band, and winter guard. the marching band is a consistent SC State finalist, a BOA finalist, and a five-time South Carolina State Champion in 1987, 1989, 1990, 1992, and 1993. Until 2013, They were the only marching band in South Carolina to compete in 5A finals competition every year since 1989, the first year 5A existed. The concert band has received consistent superiors at CPA, and their winter guards have achieved excellence throughout the years. there is yearly representation in both region and all-state band. the bands are under the direction of Aaron Gantt, as well as assistant directors Amanda Pike, and Timothy Baynard.
