For bandwatchers across the Carolinas, the most significant absence from the 2019 Bands of America schedule is the Carolinas Regional which sadly is not present after a 5 year tenure.

Due to a technological snafu, we were unable to liveblog from the 5A State Championships, so in lieu of a live blog, here was my impressions of each finalist band:

In a press release on the SCBDA website, President Leah Cordé of Columbia stated that the current forecast would not impact the schedules of the Upper and Lower State Preliminaries for classes 1A-4A to be held this Saturday at venues around the state.
There will be four competitions held in South Carolina this weekend.
Tiger Band will perform on the morning of September 22nd.
It was announced on Sunday in a press release from the South Carolina Band Directors Association’s President, Leah Corde, that Chaz Paxton from Pickens HS has been elected to serve as the President-Elect of the South Carolina Band Directors Association.
The Furman University Jazz Studies Department has released their schedule of events for their jazz ensembles for both the spring and fall semesters.
