Powdersville will represent South Carolina at the nation’s premier 4th of July parade.

The Powdersville Patriot Marching Band has announced that they will perform at the 2022 National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. The parade is one of the biggest in the nation, with bands from across the country invited to march through the iconic Constitution Avenue. The parade is a joint production of Diversified Events and the National Park Service.

SC bands have a strong history in the parade, with Powdersville itself making the trip in 2016. The last time the parade was held (in 2019), South Carolina was represented by Ridgeland-Hardeeville, Strom Thurmond, and Timberland.
