It was announced on Sunday in a press release from the South Carolina Band Directors Association’s President, Leah Corde, that Chaz Paxton from Pickens HS has been elected to serve as the President-Elect of the South Carolina Band Directors Association.

Mr. Paxton has been elected to fill the Presidential vacancy left by the retirement of David O’Shields of Lexington HS. Mr. Paxton’s elected promotion leaves a vacancy on the Marching Committee upon which he served as chairman. It has been announced that the chairmanship will be filled by Leslie Gilreath from Summerville HS.

Mr. Paxton will serve as President of the SCBDA for the 2019-2021 term.
