New Venue in Atlanta offers a read on World Class Programs

By Shane Lenard

Drum Corps International’s 24 World Class corps’s enjoyed a brand new venue this past Saturday for the DCI Southeastern Championship regional: The Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Previously held at the Georgia Dome (prior to 2016) and McEachern HS (2017), The Southeastern Championship regional is held two weeks prior to the conclusion of the season and gives the audience a great read on the World class programs as they continue to refine their products.

Notable placement standing changes include Spirit of Atlanta overtaking the Academy for 13th, Blue Stars advancing beyond the Blue Knights for 8th, and Boston Crusaders edging out the Cavaliers for a spot in the top five. Santa Clara Vanguard was the evening’s champion receiving a score of 93.675.
