Band of the Week is back! This week, we feature the 2021 Strom Thurmond Rebel Regiment marching band and their 2021 production, Uncaged. Thank you to Carly B for the photos!
The Strom Thurmond Rebel Regiment returned to the field with their 2021 production, “Uncaged,” featuring the following repertoire:
- 1,000 Airplanes On the Roof by Philip Glass
- Fly to Paradise by Eric Whitacre
- Symphony No. 10 by Dmitri Shostakovich
- Bird Set Free by Sia
On the field, the band told a story of flying free, utilizing a large golden birdcage and cloud-themed front panels that hid away the ensemble at the end of the show. Sporting a new uniform for 2021, Strom Thurmond had a successful season, punctuated by 2nd place at the SCBDA 2A Lower State Championships, and a 4th place overall finish at the SCBDA 2A State Championships.
