It’s an exciting week for band in South Carolina, with 1A-4A State Championships and plenty of out of state competitions featuring SC Bands.

The top 8 from last week’s Upper and Lower State Championships will travel to one of two venues in the Columbia area (Spring Valley HS for 2A/4A and Batesburg-Leesville HS for 1A/3A) to compete for the coveted State Champion title.
Elsewhere, plenty of 5A bands will compete in out of state competitions this weekend.
The Fort Mill HS Band (Fort Mill, SC) and the Boiling Springs Bulldog Band (Boiling Springs, SC) will travel to the Appalachian Marching Festival in Boone, NC. Nation Ford, Sumter, Dorman, Buford, and Richland Northeast will travel to Charlotte to compete at the Providence Cup at Providence HS. The Carolina Forest HS Band (Myrtle Beach, SC) will travel to Tabor City, NC to compete at the Stallion Classic at South Columbus High School.
South Carolina will have three bands represented at the Bands of America Powder Springs Regional Championship: the Mauldin HS Band (Mauldin, SC), the James F. Byrnes HS Rebel Regiment (Duncan, SC) and the Wando HS Band (Mount Pleasant, SC). The Powder Springs Regional has moved to the date traditional held by the Atlanta Regional due to complications with the Mercades-Benz Dome.
